Enthusiast for 36 Years
been our President since May 2010. Neil served as a helicopter
pilot and instructor in the Royal Air Force for 20 years from which he
retired as a Squadron Leader. During his service he spent 3 and a half
years on a loan service detachment to Brunei as OC Flying Standards
flying, instructing and examining on a range of helicopters.

owned, civilian UH-1H in the UK.
Until he retired in mid July 2018, Neil could also be seen flying the North
West Air Ambulance. The Club were pleased to hear that at
the 2017 Air Ambulance Awards of Excellence event in London, Neil won
the award of Air Ambulance Pilot of The Year. Our congratulations were
extended to Neil.
over 7,800 flying hours and 16 types on his licence.

our first President the late Jimmy Dell with, in the background, their
all time favourite aircraft. Indeed, Neil has the airframe of one of
these, XM172, in his back garden.
